Der tschechische Linguist Josef Filipec hat mit seinen zahlreichen bahnbrechenden Arbeiten nicht nur die moderne Lexikologie und Lexikographie des Tschechischen begründet, sondern auch gewichtige Beiträge, die außerhalb der Slavistik noch zu wenig bekannt sind, zur allgemeinen Lexikologie geleistet. Die hier versammelten Beiträge geben einen willkommenen Einblick in die vom Verfasser in langer Arbeit gewonnenen Erkenntnisse und basieren auf seltenen, sich gegenseitig befruchtenden Wechselwirkungen der praktischen Arbeit am Wörterbuch (vgl. das zuletzt erschiene Werk "Slovnik spisovné češtiny pro školu a veřejnost", 1994) und der theoretischen Verallgemeinerung (vgl. das grundlegende Werk "Česká lexikologie", zusammen mit F.
